Gig Harbor Tour--Garden#4

This is the 4th garden I didn't take pictures of the other 3 we just walked through quickly and out! Our gardens were better than those:) But the 4th garden was quite unique! They used a lot of structures and garden art and design! The vines were beautiful and some of their plants so unusual.
This was their Wedding Chapel area.....they had each area named I can't remember them all but it was a cute idea!

This garden was so cool....it was symetrical and was truly beautiful, all of the flowers were not blooming but I could imagine how beautiful it was going to be. They also had a few vegetables tucked in to make it an eating garden. It gave us a lot of ideas to get rid of some of the grass in the back yard and make it more favorable to the enviroment, birds, butterflies and bees!

From the other end.

Love this!

The outer edge and back portion behind the symetrical garden!

And for our vegetable growers....

Dry river bed with bridge.

I think they called this the French Bistro!

Couldn't resist this picture...Jeff has been looking at yard art like this! He has big plans!

Archway into a secret garden with a bench to rest!

This garden was so beautiful and the gardeners paid such attention to detail. But it was not stuffy or uninviting. It was friendly and you could have stayed there all day and found something new to look at. So, we now have some great ideas for our own garden.....just need the time and of course the money!
I almost forgot....my new favorite plant! Meadow Rue......it is the coolest thing and I have got to find some!

  1. Wow...very cool garden. I LOVE the climbing plants and all of the different areas. I could see the center garden in your entire backyard with the gazebo in the middle! You could put your herbs next to the patio and have them very handy for grilling in your future outdoor kitchen! I like the meadow rue, too...I will google it.

  2. Isn't it gorgeous. Jeff was out measuring that afternoon. I love the arbors....we need some. I love your arbors....I like the break it makes into different areas of the garden. I could see one leading into the vegetable garden and chicken coop!

  4. P.S. Did you see a good climbing plant for the shade? I need a climbing plant on my back gate/arbor that is mostly in the shade.

  5. That garden was beautiful and not a weed in sight! Amazing! I wish I could have gone with you guys! The St. Louis Pond tour was this last weekend, but I had to work! UGH! I wish I could just garden!!! I am going to see if I can find a garden tour around here, looks like fun!

BG-is right you need some herbs, I will split mine and bring some when we come, they will be fine for the trip and August will be a good time for them to adjust to your weather and in the winter you could put them in your garden window. Thyme, oregano, rosemary and sage will grow year round with a little care! Anthony will show you the best way to use them too! His new thing is to dry them, grind them up really fine and then use them as a crust on meats, its DE-LISH!!!

  6. I am trying to remember the vine that does well in the shade. If I can't remember the name I will call my friend at Alpine Nursery she will remember. Yes, I need arbors.
CC-you guys are going to have to stay longer for all the things we want to do! And what am I going to do about work?? I guess I will cross that bridge when it gets here.
