There wasn't much planning, aniticipation or excitement for "The Munchkin's" beginning it was one of those that just happened. There was only one sad thing about "The Munchkin's" life from the beginning we were preparing for the end. From the first moment I met her she was the bravest, most grateful puppy I have ever know. She was 7 weeks old and weighed less than 2 pounds. She was cold, tiny, weak and could not eat or drink on her own. From that day it was our job to make her better and love her every day. We soon learned that she was in kidney failure. We were going to be fighting a battle that we would soon not be able to fight anymore. The Munchkin's middle was filled with blood draws, medications, IV's,special food and blood transfusions. But she never complained. But most of all it was filled with love and happiness. I believe she never thought about the bad things in her life only the good. And the good to her was that we all loved her and she was always happy. We never took her life for granted....we never knew how long we would have her. We had prepared for the end every day and happily she lived two years. It was a short life and I cherished every minute of it and I still miss her. But in her end she helped us plan for a new beginning!
First day at home!
Warm and safe in her bed with her favorite toys "squirrel"
Jason and The Munchkin and the "squirrel"
Napping.....
Napping some more.....
Napping some more......
She always loved to be warm....
Getting towards the end but still warm!
Teaching the new!
What do you do about a girl named "Maria" and the "squirrel"!
Awww Munchkie!!! She was the coolest dog and an inspiration. I find it so interesting that both she, lived as long as she did and that Kirby is still going strong. I don't understand it just proves that God works in amazing ways. I have learned so much from the pets we have had in our lives. I am sure Munchkie is very happy to have her Mill-Mill up in heaven with her. I wonder if all our pets are together, even the ones that didn't know eachother???
ReplyDeleteGreat post, but made me tear up a bit! I think the dogs are up in heaven playing all together and discussing what goofy and loving people they lived with!
